
Project Coordinator
She is an Assistant Professor in Political Philosophy at the University of Trento, and previously held research fellowships at the universities of Mainz and Erfurt.
She served as the project manager of the Jean-Monnet project “MoSE – Towards a More Social Europe” and is currently the Principal Investigator of the PNRR-PRIN project “Beyond Workism and a Work-Centered Society”. She has worked as teacher trainer and research consultant on learning ecosystems and innovative teaching methodologies in the humanities for secondary schools. Her research focuses on the transformations of the world of work and their implications for the concepts of citizenship and education, on which she has written extensively.

Project Co-Coordinator
He is Professor of Political Philosophy at the University of Trento. He has coordinated several national and international research projects, including “Euro-Ethos. Exploring the Foundations of a Shared European Pluralistic Ethos” (EC 6th Framework Programme), and the Jean-Monnet project “MoSE – Towards a More Social Europe (2020-2023)”. From 2013 to 2018, he served as member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies and of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, where he held presidency from January to June 2018. He’s the founder and coordinator of the Open Council of Europe Academic Networks (OCEAN), which brings together universities, research institutions, and scholars from the 46 Member States of the Council of Europe to promote human rights, democracy, and the rule of law.

She is a Professor in Political Sociology at the University of Trento, and previously held a position at the University of Lincoln (2015-2017). She is a team member of the Horizon Europe project “Towards a new era of Representative Democracy – Activating European Citizens’ Trust in Time of Crises and Polarization (ActEU) (2023-2026), as well as of the Erasmus+/Jean Monnet Action project “Green Deal Network (The European Green Deal: Governing the EU’s Transition towards Climate Neutrality and Sustainability (2022 – 2025)”, which focuses on the climatic crisis. Her research and publications have extensively addressed climate change and social movements.

He is Professor of European Studies at the University of Trento, where he has been the Director of the Faculty of Social Sciences since 2024. From 2011 and 2016, he served as Director of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence at the same University. Between 2008 and 2012, he coordinated the Jean Monnet Module “EUSIM – Simulation Module: How Does the EU Work?”, and was awarded a Jean Monnet Chair titled “Toward a More Flexible Europe?”. He has written extensively on a range of EU-related topics, including regional policy and multilevel governance, the EU political system, the use of simulation games in teaching EU studies, and Italy’s role within the European Union.

She’s Professor of History at the University of Trento. She held a Jean Monnet Chair from 2018 to 2021 titled “Globalizing Europe / Europeanizing the World. The History of the EEC/EU from a Global Perspective”, and coordinated the Jean Monnet project “DICE – Democracy in the Construction of Europe” (2018-2020). She was also the holder of the Jean Monnet Module “Going Global: The History of EC/EU External Relations, 1947-2004”. Her current research focuses on female leadership and the origins of the concept of sustainable development.

He is Professor for Comparative Constitutional Law (“Euregio Chair”) at the University of Trento. He regularly serves as an expert for the European Commission (TAIEX, DG Enlargement) and is a member of the Group of Independent Experts of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, focusing on the European Charter of Local Self-Government.
His research interests include EU Law, cross-border and interregional cooperation, comparative federalism, and regionalism.

Teacher Trainer
He is a Researcher in Philosophy of Education and Pedagogy of Digital Sociality at the University of Trento. His primary research focuses on media education and digital citizenship. He is a member of the Center for Research in Media, Education and Technology of the University of Bologna, and contributed to the Jean Monnet project “MoSE – Towards a More Social Europe (2020-2023)”.

Giuseppe Zorzi
He is a former high school teacher of History and Philosophy, with experience as a visiting lecturer in several Austrian schools. Since 2021, he has served as the coordinator of the “Schools Beyond Regions and Borders” project. In this role, he has expanded the network of partner schools to include a total of 32 secondary schools from 12 EU and non-EU countries.

Daniela Ferrari
Project Manager
She is a secondary school teacher of English and a translator for various international organizations, including FAO and EU institutions. She has experience in managing innovative teaching projects in secondary schools at national and international level. In particular, she has contributed to the coordination of the civic education initiative “Schools Beyond Regions and Borders”. since its inception. As a member of the GrACE team, she is responsible for project management, as well as communication and dissemination activities in both Italian and English.

Luisa Broli
Teacher Trainer
Luisa holds a BA in Law and a PhD in Psychology, and teaches Law and International Relations at the Istituto Tecnico Casale in Vigevano, Italy. Since 2013, she has been active as a teacher trainer in various programmes promoted by the Italian Ministry of Education and currently serves as a board member of ANFIS. Her teacher training activities focus on best practices in active citizenship – particularly debate methodology – and on classroom management strategies.

Jennifer Joyce Hill
Tutor
Jennifer is a non-practicing US laywer who currently teaches Business and Legal English at the University of Trento. At GrACE, she serves as a tutor and facilitator, supporting group work during both the webinars and the residential course. Holding a JD from Vermont Law School and a DELTA from Cambridge, Jennifer brings a wealth of expertise and a diverse skill set to our team.

Ryan Licata
Tutor
Originally from South Africa, Ryan is a novelist and short story writer with extensive experience in creative writing, as well as an English teacher based in Trento. He holds an MFA in Creative Writing and a PhD from the University of Edinburgh. As part of the GrACE team, Ryan contributes to the webinars and residential course by facilitating discussions and guiding group activities.

Mike Orr
Tutor
A former Teaching Fellow at the University of Edinburgh and Associate Tutor at the University of Glasgow’s School of Education, he holds an MA in English Language Teaching and a PhD in English Philology. A multilingual professional, Mike is fluent in English, Spanish, and Arabic. At GrACE, he supports participants as a tutor and facilitator during both the webinars and the residential course.

Agostino Cambise
Tutor
He is a PhD student in Sustainable Development and Climate Change at IUSS Pavia. His research focuses on the ethical and political aspects of environmental sustainability, especially in relation to plants and policy. A graduate of the University of Trento, he is also active in Ultima Generazione, part of the A22 climate movement. At GrACE, he supports group work as a tutor and facilitator.

Giulia Valpione (until 2024)
She is Marie-Curie Fellow at the École Normale Supérieure (Paris) and Visiting Scholar at DePaul University (Chicago) and has previously worked and studied in Italy, Germany, France and Brazil. She collaborated in the Jean-Monnet project “MoSE – Towards a More Social Europe (2020-2023)”. She has published extensively on German Romanticism, the politics/nature relationship, and the history of women philosophers. Her first monograph, The Romantic Self. Sovereignty and the Politics of Nature, will be published by Cambridge University Press in early 2026.
